All of us at I-92 WLWI love our pets, and know so many loving dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Elmore County would love to have their forever home with a loving family. That’s why we’re stepping up to create awareness with the Pet of the Week campaign. Sponsored by My Montgomery Vet.

Here’s our latest Pet of the Week! The shelter shares, “Nyx is two to three years old female that came to us as a stray never reclaimed.  She weighs 56 lbs, loves cuddles and kisses and craves attention. She walks well on a leash, loves treats and has good recall.  Her finders felt she was housetrained and she is good with other dogs (male & female) here in the Shelter and children. Nyx came to us positive for heartworms but has completed her treatment so ready for a home where she will be a part of the family, kept home safe and also kept on regular heartworm prevention so she never again has to have her health challenged by those nasty heartworms.”

The adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats under one-year-old; cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.
