The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is gearing up to host its 12th Annual Strides for Kids 5K Dash on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex in east Montgomery at 300 Brown Springs Road. There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, a popular choice for parents with younger kids. The 5K starts at 8:30am and 1 mile at 9:45am.
This family friendly event is open to all runners and walkers. Cross that 5K finish line and score a special medal to commemorate your accomplishment! Plus, registered 5K participants will receive a high quality multi blend race t-shirt. Register in advance to be guaranteed a shirt. The post race party will feature refreshments, snacks, and awards for the top male and female finishers, overall, and in the various age categories!
Proceeds from this run will benefit the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign. Last year, they served nearly 500,000 meals to children who wouldn’t otherwise know where their next meal may come from. The YMCA of Greater Montgomery never turns anyone away due to the inability to pay. Their goal is to feed more kids, give more kids an opportunity to participate in YMCA Youth Sports and expand the TOPSoccer program for kids with Diverse Abilities!
