2020 Mardi Gras Events in the River Region

It’s Mardi Gras season and you don’t have to head down to New Orleans to enjoy it, there are plenty of family fun events right here in the River Region!

February 8th
2020 Mardi Gras Celebration – Prattville (hosted by the City of Prattville)

Come out for family fun as the good times roll in Prattville on Saturday, February 8, beginning at 11AM with food, art and commercial vendors, as well as children’s activities.

The parade begins at 2PM and will roll out from the Autauga County Courthouse with floats, bands, dancers and lots of beads, candy and trinkets for all! For a vendor or parade application, contact the Special Events Office at 334-595-0850.

February 15th
Millbrook Mardi Gras Parade and Festival – Millbrook (hosted by Millbrook Revelers)

Millbrook Revelers Mardi Gras festival at the Village Green has become one of the “Must Attend” events in Alabama in the month of February. It is the largest Mardi Gras celebration North of Mobile and with over 60 vendors on site, there will be something for everyone.

The Mardi Gras Parade ROLLS out at NOON starting at the SMOKEHOUSE on Main St. and ending at the Presbyterian Church.

February 15th
7th Annual Mardi Gras Block Party & Cajun Cook-off – Montgomery (hosted by DBA Montgomery)

Join us for our 7th Annual Mardi Gras Block Party – Saturday, February 15th, 2020 on Commerce Street in downtown Montgomery! This is our event of the year and its tons of fun!

Tickets are available in advance for the Cajun Cook-off. Advance sales are limited so get them early before they sell out! A portion of the proceeds from the cook-off will go to Valiant Cross Academy and That’s My Child.

NOTE: Regular admission to the block party (which lasts from 12 – 6pm) is free, but tasting tickets are required if you want to enjoy the Cajun cuisine from our particpating restaurants and vote for your favorites!

(NOTE: the cook-off starts at 12pm noon and ends at 2pm)

February 22nd
2020 Order of Cimarrón Mardi Gras Festival – Wetumpka (hosted by Order of Cimarrón)

The Wetumpka Mardi Gras Festival features over 40 vendors, 20 of them being food type vendors, there will be something for everyone. Foods include chicken on a stick, alligator, gumbo, smoked turkey legs, red beans and rice and much much more. There will be fun rides for children of all ages. Pony rides, water walker, a climbing wall and the zip ride. In addition, we will have a DJ onsite all day!

The Order of Cimarrón annual Mardi Gras parade will roll at 1:00 pm. Parade will assemble at First Baptist Church, 205 W Bridge St. Parade will follow W Bridge Street across Bibb Graves Bridge and take a left on E Bridge Street. Then turn south or right onto Hill Street, right onto E Commerce and go in front of the Elmore County Courthouse. Then turn left or south onto S Main Street and end at the Wind Creek Casino employee parking lot..

In 2019, In honor of our Grand Marshal, Rea Cord, of Humane Society of Elmore County (HSEC,) we will be celebrated “Pawdi Gras!” Pet owners are encouraged to dress up their pet and walk along in our parade. Mardi Gras themed pets will be featured near the front of the parade. There is no entry fee for the parade but donations to benefit the Humane Society of Elmore County will be collected by The Order of Cimarrón on day of parade.
